Cove Blanca (Ciutadella)

Cala Blanca is situated at five kilometres from Ciutadella, located between Cala Santandria, it is more open and clearer than this, and s'Aigo Dolça, aswell as next to the village with the same name. The name is given by the colour of the substract.

This sea inlet is characterized by being u-shaped, it is very small, the sandy ground is surrounded by rocky areas which are not very high, on the top of which there are touristic and resiential buildings, at the rear you will find a system of dunes and some touristic buildings aswell, some small but thick pine woods in the surroundings, it is exposed to the wind from the west, a gentle breeze, quiet water, the slope is gentle, and it is very crowded by local visitors and tourists. 

The marine and underwater conditions for anchoring small boats are good. This coastal stretch is situated at 2,5 nautical miles from Cap d'Artrutx. 

Next to the left side of the entrance there is a small island, Illot de Cala Blanca. The surroundings of Cala Blanca are full of archeological sites and vestiges. You will find the caves of Parella, with stalactites, stalagmites and a lake inside, aswell as the rests of a sort of room, dated between 200 and 1200 BC, typical pretalaiotic and talaiotic habitat in the western Menorca. These sites cannot be visited. 

The accessibility by car is easy following the signs and the deviations. The private car can be left on a free parking area in the surroundings. You can also reach this beach with the public transport. The nearest bus stop is located next to this coastal corner.
