A wonderful sandy beach next to the Urbanización Cala en Porter
Here is a beautiful beach in the south of Menorca, surrounded by high cliffs that are covered with bushes.
In the summer, the beach, of fine white sand - 150 meters long and 200 meters wide - is visited by families who appreciate the shallow, transparent and the life guards and the wooden walkways for disabled guests. In the surroundings there are restaurants with a rich gastronomic offer. The beach has a buoyed area to practice water sports such as paddle surfing or kayaking. This deep indentation is located between the Morros Esclafat and Ponent, and the Talaia de ses Penyes rises in the west, a watchtower erected at 68 meters height.
In the back part of the beach is the Torrente de Cala en Porter, which forms a small wetland, frequented by numerous birds. On the top of the cliffs on the left side of the beach is the Cova d'en Xoroi cave. According to a legend, an Arab lived in her, who had no ear. Today the cave hosts a club with wonderful panoramic views.
To reach Cala en Porter from Alaior (12.4 km), follow the road signs to the Urbanización. In it you will find the signs for the branch to the beach, which has a parking lot.
