Cove Sant Esteve

You are in a historic place because from this bay you have a good view of Fort Marlborough, built by the British at the beginning of the 18th century - and the Sant Felip castle, a military infrastructure of the same century, key to the defense of the coveted port of Maó.

The beach is located between the Torre d'en Penjat, a three-storey watchtower, and Punta de Sant Carles, crowned by the Maó lighthouse. It is a deep sea bay that flows on a rocky beach of 61 meters in length and 106 meters in width. In the water of this beach some isolated boats are moored. The beach has no services; you should therefore take something to drink or eat with you.

To get to the beach from Es Castell (2.8 km), you must follow the Camí de sa Cala route; at its end you will find a parking lot. During your visit to Maó, you should visit Fort Marlborough and Sant Felip Castle; both are witnesses of an interesting chapter in the history of the island.
