Natural values of an island that is a biosphere reserve
The ravines in the south of Menorca form one of the natural values of the island, which are worth to know. A visit to the Minorcan gorges allows you to discover small micro-climates, with forests and year-round water. Gorges like those of Algendar or Trebalúger are obligatory visits to get to know the flora and fauna of these specific habitats. Some of these canyons also have caves where you can admire the peculiar forms created by nature.
Menorca also has a large number of wetlands. Lagoons like those of des Grau, in the north of the island; wetlands such as those of the prat de Son Bou, the most important wetland on the south coast, and such as those of Binissarmenya or Es Clot des Guix, are only a few examples of these areas of high ecological and scenic value, worth a visit.
