Nature reserve El Barranc d'Algendar

The Barranc d'Algendar is a true sanctuary of biodiversity. Hiking in the Barranc d'Algendar

In addition to its enormous ecological value, the Barranc d'Algendar is also a place steeped in history. Along the way, it is easy to see traces of the Muslim period, such as cisterns and water channels. However, two elements stand out in particular in this respect: the Pas d'en Revull and the Camí Reial.

The Camí Reial was the main connection route between Ferreries and Ciutadella and originated in the Middle Ages. A 3.5-kilometre stretch that connects the town of Ferreries with the ravine was recovered thanks to the work of a group of volunteers. Today you can enjoy this piece of history because of their work.  

Another singular element is the Pas d'en Revull. This is a historic pass, carved into the rock, which has been used since time immemorial to connect the ravine with the Camí Reial. This path, which winds its way between imposing vertical rock walls, offers spectacular views of the surroundings and is a testament to the genius with which the ancient inhabitants of Minorca adapted to their environment.
